David is a keen birder, naturalist and semi-professional photographer. Accompanied by his SLR (Canon) and digiscoping optics (Kowa Optimed), he sets out to obtain portraits in the natural environment that are a little out of the ordinary, aiming especially to capture motion, behaviour and light through his trademark spontaneity. David is the official photographer of the 'Royston in Blue' charity event that raises funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust. David was runner-up in the 2012 'Bird Photograph of the Year (Digiscoping section) competition run by 'British Birds' magazine and is a former winner of the Zeiss Ltd Award for bird photography.
